Located in Lousa´s historical center, renowned entry point of the Schist Villages Route, the Hotel offers a warm atmosphere with stunning views of the Lousa Mountains.
The Hotel surroundings invite you to enjoy nature. You can observe wild game (deers and wild boars) in their natural habitat and visit a set of secular buildings, such as the medieval Arouce Castle, the wells of the Real Neveiro, where ice was stored in the winter to be later on sent to the King´s cellar in Lisbon, and the Chapel of our Lady of Sorrows, up on the mountain.
The Lousa Mountains are mandatory when it comes to adventure. Mountain biking and all terrain vehicle fans are always thrilled to find here new paths that will push their skill to the limit. Nostalgically, the Rally of Portugal´s fans remember the Lousa´s mountains as one the best stages of the competition.
Last but not the least, don´t miss out the Aldeias do Xisto (Schist Villages) up on the mountains and the beautifully build XVII century manors spread across the Lousa village.

RIDE 1 [Difficult]

This mountain bike route, is about 26 km, starts at the MTB Center in Lousã. The first 7 km are almost always going up to Casal Novo, a village located in a landscaped area, where are predominate natural sights of where you can enjoy a beautiful landscape that is still little known. From this location we went down and got to 3 km Talasnal, which is second largest village of Lousã. After 5 km climb and reach the highest point of the circuit, at an altitude of 873 meters. From this point the return to town of Lousã is almost always down.

RIDE 2 [Severe]

This route of approximately 38 km , starts at the MTB Center in Lousã. Rising 5 km until we reached the village of Pigsty , which is bounded by two small streams and hidden by dense vegetation that surrounds it. Then, if we go up 4 km we reach the village of Talasnal. Here we find a very magical atmosphere of Lousã and penetrate in lush vegetation where lurk deer, roe deer, wild boar and many other species. After passing through the villages of Vaqueirinho and Catarredor, goes down to the village Candal, which is nestled in the Sierra Lousã, on a hill facing the South Rising about 5 km, we reach the village of Cerdeira. Soon thereafter, if we go down to a small stream, we find the scruffy appearance of the buildings. The dominant tone of shale overlies the green slopes, the blue sky and white clouds. The return to Lousã is by a path lined with lush and natural bush, with large declines and some singletrack´s. NOTE: Access to the ruins of Silvertown is made with the bike by hand.

RIDE 3 [Difficult]

This route has the same goal as the Granfondo, simulating a mountain stage a big comeback cyclist (Tour de France, Vuelta Tour of Spain or Portugal), but the distance (about 96 km) and cumulative positive climb are below (approximately 2,200 meters) Granfondo.

RIDE 4 [Severe]

The Granfondo Skyroad Schist Villages is an event organized by Skyroad, with the primary goal to provide all amateur athletes the experience of feeling the feeling of participating in a big mountain stage, as if it were a serious test, simulating a step mountain bike on a ride (Tour de France, Vuelta Tour of Spain or Portugal) accompanied by a logistic up to this experience. This bike route road is devoted to all practitioners of cycling and cycling. It is a challenge to the strength of the participants, given their distance (about 170 km) and its accumulated climb (about 4000 meters). The route of the race, very scenic and marked by large horizons, held in the mountain roads with little car traffic, but in excellent condition floor.
